ROYAL HIGHLAND SHOW 2010 - Blackface sheep results
Judge :- Bill Ramsay, Milnmark, Dalry

The judging of the Blackface sheep at the Royal Highland Show took place on Thursday 24th June 2010 on a beautiful sunny day. The judge Bill Ramsay had a great show of sheep in front of him, and although the numbers were back from the previous year, the competition was strong. He picked his Champion of the day from the females forward, a home bred gimmer from Jim Logan, Pirntaton, Stow took the overall award. Jim also went on to take the reserve overall award with the best male of the day, a Shearling that he had purchased a half share in, as a lamb at Stirling from Auldhouseburn. This Shearling was by 007, a £37,000 Glen Gatehouse, who himself was a former champion at the Royal Highland Show. Willie Craig, shepherd for DC & JJ Marshall, Gosland also had a great show, with Gosland taking the reserve Male and reserve Female tickets. The reserve male was a 4 shear tup, the £9000 Glenrath, sired by £20,000 Glen. He is no stranger to the Royal Highland show, receiving 1st prize last year and 2nd as a two shear the year before. Gosland's reserve Female was a ewe by £6,500 Milmark and out of a ewe sired by a grandson of 007. She also had been shown at the show as a ewe lamb and a gimmer.
