Third Spring Show
Held on Thursday 4th March, 2010
Within Newton Stewart Mart

The Dumfries and Galloway Branch of the Blackface Sheep Breeders Association held another very successful and enjoyable night within Newton Stewart Mart, by kind permission of Craig Wilson Ltd.
Their third spring show of Blackface Sheep, was hailed as a great success with over 85 sheep forward and 110 members and friends stockjuding. The judge for the evening was well known and respected Lanarkshire breeder Mr Alan Wight, Midlock, Crawford, Biggar, he had the difficult job of placing one of the biggest and best shows of Blackface sheep in the district, which is now out numbering any summer show. The Champion was exhibited by father and son team Graham and Colin McClymont, Cuil, Palnure, Newton Stewart , their ewe is by the £30,000 Pole sire and out of £1400 Cuil ewe is from their Cuil flock.


The reserve champion was, from the family team of M/s Kay, Gass, Straiton, Ayrshire, their Gimmer, better known as Lady Ga Ga is by the £12000 Glen Inerleithen sire and has been successfully shown last year.
